PARASITISM IN AMSINCKIINAE:

Parasitism in members of the Amsinckiinae has scarcely been documented, and nothing is known from the literature.
Here is one example:

Galls on Cryptantha hispidissima, photographed by Dylan Neubauer, Swanton Pacific Ranch, northern Santa Cruz County, April 23, 2022.
Orange larva is likely a gall midge (family Cecidomyiidae, Diptera): Aaron Schusteff, personal communication to Dylan Neubauer, based on this photograph.
(See catalog of Cecidomyiidae by Ray Gagne.)
