Vegetative stem is caulescent (elevated above ground). Note filiferous leaf margins, derived from thread-like fibrovascular bundles.
Inflorescence is a large panicle. Flowers have a biseriate, homochlamyderous perianth. Stamen filaments are swollen with tiny anthers.
