Shrub, 2-3 feet tall. Two other varieties, E. f. var. foliolosum and E. f. var. polifolium, occur in San Diego County. See key above.

Note short shoots (fascicles) with alternate-fasciculate leaf
arrangement, leaves narrowly elliptic to linear
with revolute margins and whitish-tomentulose abaxial surface.
