Arctostaphylos pungens
A tall shrub. Note smooth, reddish bark, leaves with mucronate (pungent) apices.
Inflorescence axis (rachis) is thickended, characteristic of this species. Corollas are urceolate, typical of all members of the genus and many other Ericaceae.
