In all these results, Cryptantha torreyana (var. torreyana) is part of a well-supported clade, is sister to C. ambigua, these two sister to C. crinita and C. mariposae and these four sister to C. watsonii.

Note: There are undocumented reports that introgression or hybridization may occur between C. torreyana and C. ambigua.
