Phylogenetic Relationships:
From the most recent analyses Cryptantha catalinensis [labeled C. wigginsii below, from Clohessy s.n. (SDSU20082)] is sister to C. decipiens,
these two within a well-supported cladewith C. affinis, C. clevelandii, and C. corollata.
These are sister to C. microstachys, and these to a clade of C. barbigera var. b., C. ganderi, and C. intermedia var. i.
