In all these results, Cryptantha ambigua is part of a well-supported clade, is sister to C. torreyana, these two sister to C. crinita and C. mariposae and these four sister to C. watsonii.



Distribution:
Note record in one county of Massachusetts, one of two examples (along with C. intermedia) of an adventive Cryptantha, both apparently dispersed via "wool waste". See Angelo and Boufford 2014.
